South Korean actor Yoo Ah-in has tested positive for marijuana while being investigated for using propofol, a highly regulated drug in South Korea. As part of the probe, police sent his hair and urine samples to the National Forensic Service for testing after he arrived in South Korea from the United States.

The results of the urine sample showed presence of marijuana, which is illegal in South Korea, while the results of the hair sample are yet to be released. The investigation was carried out by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s drug investigation unit at the request of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The unit conducted searches and seized medical records from clinics in Gangnam and Yongsan for evidence of Yoo’s alleged use of propofol since 2021. Yoo’s agency, United Arts Agency, has stated that they will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
