Jayson and Lorellei’s wedding was one to remember. Not only did the couple tie the knot in Tagaytay City on January 24, but their guests also went home with a unique wedding giveaway – a bayong full of onions (sibuyas).

According to wedding coordinator Aldrik Gohel, the couple decided to give away bayong (handwoven native bags) full of onions as a token of appreciation to their guests.

“The idea was well-received by Jayson and Lorellei’s guests,” Gohel said. “They were all surprised and delighted to receive the onions.”

The couple’s decision to give away onions as wedding giveaways was inspired by their love for cooking and also since onions became a controversial topic in the Philippines recently due to its outrageous market price that go as high as PHP 700 per kilogram.

“Jayson and Lorellei are both passionate about cooking,” Gohel said. “They wanted to share their love for cooking with their guests, so they decided to give away onions as a symbol of their love for cooking.”

The couple’s guests were also delighted to receive the onions, as they can be used in a variety of dishes.

“Onions are a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of dishes,” Gohel said. “The guests were all very pleased to receive the onions, as they can use them in their own cooking.”

Jayson and Lorellei’s wedding was truly one to remember, and their guests will surely remember it for years to come.
