An explosion caused by gas in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) area in Taguig resulted in a fire that destroyed property and caused panic among the public. The fire started around 7:46pm on Wednesday night, August 11, 2021 on a construction site located at 21st Drive in the BGC area of Taguig City. The incident was initially reported to be an explosion, but it was later clarified as being caused by gas.

The huge fire and loud explosion cause panic among nearby residents. Dark heavy smoke and strong explosion were observed which lasted for about 2 hours.

It was also reported that a 35-year-old man was injured with third-degree burns on both his face and body. He was immediately rush to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig for medical attention.
The fire was later declared extinguished by Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-National Capital Region at 9:35pm.
