Microsoft recently announced that it will change Calibri as the default font for MS Office. Microsoft did not mention the exact date when the new default font will take effect but stated that it would be some time in July 2021.

Calibri has been the default font since Microsoft released Office 2007, replacing Time New Roman.
In light of this change, the Microsoft Design Team has considered five (5) new custom fonts in search for its next default font. These are Tenorite, Bierstadt, Skeena, Seaford, and Grandview.
The new default font will be a sans serif typeface, which may affect your future documents in a way that you may not have anticipated.

Come the change takes effect, Calibri font can still be used as it will still be available in Microsoft Office wide selection of fonts.
The selection of the new default Office font will not be decided by Microsoft alone. In fact, the tech giant is considering users feedback thru their social media page on Twitter.

Calibri has been the standard for so long, so it'll be interesting to see what the new font will be. I'm sure it'll be just as great as Calibri!
