It has been confirmed that Manny Pacquiao and Errol Spence Jr will be engaged in a boxing match on August 21, 2021 which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. It has been roughly two (2) years since the Filipino boxing legend fought inside the boxing ring against Keith Thurman and brought home the WBA super welterweight title. In one of the most anticipated boxing bouts for this year, he will square off against Spence, an unbeaten world champion who won three defenses of his title.
“I have always wanted to challenge myself and take the biggest fights. Errol Spence is an unbeaten champion and those are the kinds of fights I want,” Manny Pacquiao said in an media interview.
In December 2020, Spence defeated Danny Garcia for the vacant IBF welterweight title. In October 2019, the 31-year-old American boxer was involved in a car accident that left him in critical condition.
Spence was a former US Olympian and remains unbeaten at 27-0 record, 21 of which were knockouts. At present, Spence has WBC and IBF welterweight belts and was hailed as one of the world’s elite pound-for-pound fighters in the boxing scene.
Pacquiao versus Spence fight is going to be the anticipated boxing event of this year. Will this be another chance for a lucrative payday for Manny Pacquiao? In case Spence takes home the welterweight title against the Filipino boxing legend, this may probably be the last boxing deal for Pacquiao. But it remains to be seen whether Manny will win the fight or not.
